You've used all your votes and won't be able to post a new idea, but you can still search and comment on existing ideas.

  1. integrate TRiD detection

    TRiD detects filetypes based on their contents, not their extension. I've talked to the author and I can integrate the TRiD engine into EduSweep, letting you find all those files that students have renamed.

    • create a backup with file structure intacked

      deleting files that could be required by users is a pain it would be nice to be able to archive the files off in there file structure and then delete after.

      • create a wider, more specific set of definitions

        Definitions are pretty non-specific right now. I'd like to break them down a little more so that media, for example, becomes "music" and "video".

        • Have an "exclude" list

          Exclude list, so that certain folders within a user area are not checked - I pick up 100's of hits from AppsData and others that I'm not really interested in.

          • add a real-time list of scan results

            At the moment, there's no way to see what items are being picked up until after a scan. How about a real-time list of results that's generated while scanning?

              When entering the places to search, would it be possible to have EduSweep remember the list on restart?
